The latest M2011 mythic – Sun Titan

Baneslayer Angel has some competition when it comes to being the mythic rare of choice in M2011. As discussed in a previous article (Why Baneslayer Angel isn't the best), Baneslayer Angel is not the ideal choice for finishing your opponent off due to it not creating card advantage or leaving a footprint behind.

Enter Sun Titan.

Sun Titan

When he enters the battlefield, he'll return any card with converted mana cost of three or less to the battlefield. In addition, whenever he attacks, he'll also trigger that effect.

Not to mention it's sexy 6/6 body capable of attacking and blocking courtesy of vigilance.

What are some good choices to use with Titan's recursion?

First and foremost, lands that sacrifice for effects. In Standard, fetchlands and Tectonic Edge are the primary cards I see being played with Titan.

Jace Beleren may also make a resurgence if Titan picks up, allowing players to use Jace's unsymmetrical card draw continously.

Extended provides more options to use Titan. A few good options include Kitchen Finks, Aven Riftwatcher, and Fulminator Mage.

The primary reason you'd want to play this over Baneslayer Angel is the continuous footprint it leaves.  While this lacks the evasion that Baneslayer has, it makes up for it by having the ability to put cards on the board.

So what do you think?  Will you be playing this as your white finisher of choice?  Drop a comment in the box below.

Till next time,
